The First GreenPoint Discussion: A Deep Dive with Ranil Nanayakkara

The Center for Investigative Reporting (CIR) will host the first knowledge dialogue under the new series, “GreenPoint: Expert Discussions on the Environment” on 13 March 2021 from 6.00 pm – 7.30 pm via zoom.

The series is designed to generate focused discussions on specific environmental issues and to bring research scientists and environmental journalists to one forum.

CIR’s first discussion, “A Deep Dive with Ranil Nanayakkara” will have Ranil Nanayakkara, a well-known conservation biologist, arachnologist, and diver sharing his knowledge and experience on marine mammals with a greater focus on whales and dugongs.  The discussion will also explore potential threats to species survival, conservation challenges, and potential solutions to increasing marine pollution.

The GreenPoint discussions are a part of CIR’s new initiative ” Stories from the Margins” supported by the Earth Journalism Network (EJN).

We kindly invite you to join this by-invitation-only event via zoom and to contribute to the discussion.
