CIR partners with C-CAB to launch ‘Facebook Fundamentals for News’ in Bangladesh

The Center for Investigative Reporting (CIR) together with Center for Communication Action Bangladesh (C-CAB) will launch ‘Facebook Fundamentals for News,’ the first mobile-based learning program for Bangladesh, a foundational program by the Facebook Journalism Project this Thursday (5).

The functions of the mobile learning platform will be supported by Bigspring, a mobile-based lifelong skilling platform.

This is the first mobile learning program of its kind offered to journalists in Bangladesh. The main objective of the program is to reach ethnic media and underserved communities, especially those from remote or conflict zones, serving as key sources of information for various ethnic groups.

The program will upskill over 1000 learners, including newsroom teams, journalists, editors, social media managers and publishers with some of the key digital publishing tools through bite-sized learning via videos, flashcards and quizzes.

Learners will be supported through a personalized coaching program with swift feedback from skipped trainers through the BigSpring app.
