Citizen Journalism training Series – MOJO storytelling: Tools and Techniques

The first of a new virtual training series themed ‘MOJO storytelling: Tools and Techniques’ under the CitizensConnect initiative will be underway this Saturday, 12 February 2022.

Renowned multimedia journalist, trainer and Chief Editor/CEO of the Nepal Multimedia Journalism Network (NIMJN) Rajneesh Bhandari will deliver the virtual training for 20 select digital storytellers currently contributing Mobile Journalism (MOJO) content for CitizensConnect, an exclusive storytelling platform. The training will cover the A to Z of MOJO storytelling techniques, coupled with virtual demos.

CitizensConnect is an initiative by the Center for Investigative Reporting (CIR) designed to strengthen citizen journalism in Sri Lanka, and to create an ethical and highly professional community of MOJO storytellers. The program provides continuous skills development opportunities and a unique tri-lingual web platform for the publication of stories often underreported.

The program is supported by the International Research and Exchange Board (IREX) and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).

Those keen to bring out underreported stories from across Sri Lanka can become a part of the CitizensConnect network and contribute to story development while enjoying exclusive opportunities to upskill themselves, both locally and globally.

A few seats are still available for the ongoing orientations and interested persons can apply using the link given below.
