To mark the first anniversary of the Center for Investigative Reporting (CIR) in Sri Lanka, we are calling for applications from interested, early to mid-career journalists for a training workshop on fact-checking and integrity tools coupled with reporting opportunities under a grants scheme.
Selected participants will be trained by DataLEADS, a data-driven Indian initiative aimed to create new platforms of data research and storytelling, at a tailor-made residential training workshop on February 29 & March 1, 2020.
Subsequent to the training, CIR will mentor the participants to undertake specialized reporting, using the skills on fact-checking tools. Participants are required to produce at least two reports as part of the program. A grant of up to Rs. 20,000 will be available for research and development of each such report.
Application deadline: Closed
