The second and third of a three-part training series under CIR’s latest initiative titled “Reporting for Change on Skilled Migration” will be held on 25-26 June 2023 in Anuradhapura.

The training will bring together 40 journalists, majority of them working in districts having the highest numbers of labour migration, to prepare them for   insightful and nuanced reporting on labour migration with special emphasis on skilled migration. After the training, those who submit the best pitches will qualify for a limited number of reporting fellowships and mentoring support from a panel of eminent senior journalists. The two training programs will be conducted in Sinhala and Tamil languages.

“Reporting for Change on Skilled Migration” is CIR’s latest training and in-depth reporting initiative and offers 60 Sri Lankan journalists an opportunity to receive intensive training on how to report on international labour migration with a focus on skilled migration.
