CIR launches New Reporting Initiative on Electoral Accountability

The Center for Investigative Reporting (CIR) has launched its latest media capacity building and reporting initiative to support in-depth reporting on electoral accountability in Sri Lanka.

Six mid-career journalists will receive reporting fellowships to research and report on systemic issues that affect electoral democracy in Sri Lanka.

To kickstart, an intensive two-day training program on transparency and accountability in governance will be held for the select journalists. During their fellowship period, senior editors will offer them mentoring support to produce high quality in-depth reports.

The initiative includes a four-part discussion series bringing together expert speakers to share insights on issues related to electoral democracy and promote solutions.

The program is supported by the Netherlands Embassy in Colombo.
